Hey mates - newbie here. Got a black 2006 Bonneville with a broken speedo, no tach. What would you recommend to replace it? Stock part or something newer/better? Much appreciated!

You will pay through the nose for a new OEM speedo. Unless you seek complete originality I would try a used one or go new digital or analogue in a style of your choice. You should be able to use the existing drive or ditch it according to preference. eBay!

Stock part definitely for me. The reason being anything other than stock will be a negative come resale time. If you get it done by a stealer (sorry dealer) then you'll have a paper trail to prove the milage. If you do it yourself (because it's cheaper) then take time-stamped photos on the day of changeover, showing the old mileage and the new.
