    Hi,

I might have a slight oil leak. After giving the bike a bit of a thrashing today there seemed to be a small amount of oil behind the cylinders at the top of the crankcase. Not much, just enough to stain the kitchen roll I used to wipe it. All the oil feeds, etc., seem tight, and then I noticed 1 drop of oil at the edge of the fin in line with the head gasket. Are these bikes known to blow their head gasket? It might be nothing, maybe it just blew some oil out somewhere due to being used very hard?

Suppose all I can do is keep an eye on it.

    Cheers

Hi Tony, have you checked the head torque?

From the oils location....fin at head gasket level.....on the up side it could be the head needs torquing down......

....on the downside it could be the head gasket is starting to let go.

I had a different brand of 4 stroke vertical twin.....but same symptoms.....ended up with a new head gasket, leak stopped.

    Cheers,

Had another look today and noticed a suspiciously slimy looking oil pressure switch. I'll keep an eye on it, though it looks a bit awkward to get at if it needs changing.
