Hi All and happy new year!... Looking at a mini scissor lift to raise my bonneville 2011 EFI off the ground for cleaning and basic maintenance, etc..... I have see a few on ebay e,g, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scissor-...597528&hash=item1a4794a880:g:E5wAAOSwWFFa9r7G and wondered if anyone else has used successfully? Mindful I have Arrow exhaust kit and removed centre stand. Many thanks Andy
I use one of these for my Bonnie. About £90 and with tie downs you can wheel it about plus achieve slightly better height. I just use a fillet of ply on the frame area as the exhausts are otherwise the lowest part......
I had one like that collapsed the first time I used it Brand new Speedmaster on it Wrenched my shoulder Threads in here somewhere about them and I don’t recommend them cos they’re cheap for a reason
Many thanks to all for support and input.... I have invested in a Clark CML5 bike lift which is a great piece of kit nd more stable than the scissor lig=ft first considered. Thanks again and ride safe...
Not sure if this subject all done and dusted but my choice for bike lift for my new Speedmaster ( just ordered) will be what is known as a Strongarm lift. This allows one wheel at a time lifted clear to clean or lube chain etc. Don’t know how to set a link but item is on eBay now. Search eBay for item number 702142451185. Let me know what you think.
I have one of those, I use it for the Sportster mostly, so it’s durable and stable enough. Had it some time now. I also keep a small stock of variously shaped timbers to lift specific machines that have awkwardly located exhausts etc... Can’t beat the centre stand, though. All bikes used to have them (except Harley’s) and that was for a reason. My T100 came with one and it’s very useful.
