I was amazed when I went to Llandudno a few years ago and went into a shop that was selling golliwogs. If a shop sold golliwogs where I lived, it would be raided by the police and prosecuted, the council would get involved, the local press would crucify it and the local asian population would burn it down.
I just couldn't believe that a shop could sell golliwogs. I spoke to the owner and it just wasn't an issue to her.

So do they cut you up after fattening you up and then go fishing? :)
One square sausage is worth 3 links in my view.

Square sausage is Lorne sausage so spicier and a pork/beef mix. A full English is a variation of the full Scottish or Ulster Fry which are all indelibly British. The Welsh breakfast, complete with Welsh bacon, Welsh sausages and the all-important Penclawdd cockle and laverbread cake.......is an acquired taste.

When I was lorry driving I came across a variation on the black pudding theme in Eire - white pudding!!
IIRC it was at one of our regular delivery destinations in Nenagh, Co.Tipperary. Didn't taste much different to the black pudding which was on the same plate. Bloody good breakfast there for not too much money - the boss of the cafe was a Man U fan who would take payment in £s or euros - the pounds found there way back home when he went to the football, apparently.
Never come across white pudding since!

Prefer a bit of clottie dumpling to fruit pudding but both are nice.
Mostly just eat dumpling as a pudding.

    Now you've got me wondering!!
There used to be a truck stop at Lesmahagow off the M74 (I believe that Tesco bought the site although I think there is a new truck stop there now) which I would often frequent. It could well have been there that I came across that particular delicacy.:yum
My age is beginning to show methinks!:worried: Must be getting on for 10 years since I stopped there.

EDIT .... definitely remember having white pudding in Ireland, and having enjoyed more than a few breakfasts at Lesmahagow then that will certainly be another source of this tasty morsel in my dim and distant past.

Phew!!! Glad I sorted that out in my own mind - thought I was going daft(er) for a minute!:cold_sweat:

Shops sell them on the Isle of Wight - but then it is essentially still the 1960's over there.
My mum bought me one for a laugh when she was on holiday!
