    Hey chaps,

Do any of you fine gentlemen have a set of black engine covers knocking around for a Thruxton 1200??

    Cheers,

    Matt

Get it powder coated Matt, I’d bought a second hand clutch cover from eBay and have just had it powder coated black. Crown Finishers in Surbiton did a great job and very quick turnaround too.

Out of interest how much did they charge to powder coat them?

They charged £50 cash. Wheels are £75 each and I’ll get them done next.

Amazing where are you taking it to have it done? I’ve got second hand covers coming this week to take over to Crown!
Can’t wait to see pics of yours!

Mechanic friend of mine literally down the road from me in Wallington is doing it. He’s only there for a few days once a month but has done bits and pieces for me for a few years now. Really nice bloke so if Wallington works for you I can pass on his number if you like.

Let’s just hope mine is straightforward otherwise he might not want to see another :joy: I’ve got quite a bit going on tomorrow actually, alternator cover, clutch cover, new levers, new chrome bolts for the entire engine casing plus sorting out some of my muck-ups

Yeah grab as many bits as you can and get them all done at the same time. Wish I’d put my wheels in to be done too but that’ll be for another time.

Cool no worries, I would try and make sure the guys at the powder coaters block off all the spots they’re supposed to (parts that don’t need spraying) when they do the job. I put masking tape over the holes but reckon they just went and coated the whole thing which meant holes had to be re-tapped.

Ah ok will make sure they do it!!

I’ve got the clutch and alternator cover but have had to admit defeat and buy a new black front sprocket cover from Destination Triumph!

Going to take it to be coated this week!

Well I think from March 8th. I'm sure riding a motorbike in a group of two is permitted if 'coffee on a bench' is allowed ...

"Two people from different households can meet outside for recreation, which can include "a coffee on a bench"
