Well, we decided to put the bike to bed for the winter, plenty of other things on the go at the moment.
However I will still be riding all winter, Some of you will know I rode Trials many years ago. Well at 66 I have decided to start again. I will ride in the twin shock section. Much easier than this modern stuff.
My trials days were all undertaken in the Lakes, Scottish Borders, and the Dales. Now it will be Suffolk, which has NO Hills or Mountains, very few water falls or rocks. So I know it will be much easier.
First trial 8th Oct. Here is the new bike. 1980 Fantic 200. I have stripped the bike and almost rebuilt it. I have one job left to do. I have decided to strip out the 1980 electrics and fit a new electronic ignition system. So looking forward to my winter biking.:)
    Ride Safe all. Ken.

The bike looks as thou it’s just out the showroom !
Enjoy your winter trails riding , is it road legal?
Or could it be made so? Too early yet to put bikes to bed for winter

Cheers for the reply, Well at some time it was road legal, I have applied for a V5 but they have to find the original registration first. That is taking place now. I have other bikes I can ride, I have only put the America to bed.;) We think it is 1979 or 1980. I agree it is clean. Mostly new parts though.

Mrs C said oh no back to flasks of tea and oxtail soup.:) Think she might have forgotten about the rain coat and wellies:(

Just one other thing about , shouldn’t it be orange in colour or am I thinking on a different make of trials bikes?
I vaguely remember there was a manufacturer that did orange and nothing else.

I remember Fantic (or Frantic as we knew then) did a 50cc chopper in the 70's, ridiculous, dangerous bloody thing!
Chopped bikes were big at the time, 'spose they thought they'd jump on the band wagon.

Having one of those I wish moments, was a keen spectator in the past but never so lucky to own and partake of the sport.A nice wee machine you've got there, ride safe and enjoy :)

Mine was on Salisbury Plain. The tank assault course was good. Gave plenty of varied terrain and dodging the Land Warden was also fun but way too easy.
All we had to do was duck into the trees.
His landi was just too big to follow :)

    What a great looking bike.
Fantic 50cc moped, yellow with 6 gears was my first road legal bike at 16 yrs old.
    Happy days :grinning:

I dont want to hi-jack this thread, but do you also remember the tiny Yamaha twin, I thought it to be a 50cc but may have been 100, buzzed like a chain saw!
Only saw 1, on Canvey Island at the time and never seen 1 since! Mid 70's.
