Battery Upgrade.

    I have been doing a lot of homework and everybody is in agreement that you should upgrade the tiger 1050's battery from 12 to 14,the cca on mine is 180,most of the upgrades it is 200 and i have found one with 230 this is the one i want as i am running heated grips and satnav,BUT my question is does it matter that it is YT[Z] not YT[X] the ytx one's are too tall to fit in the bike,thanks in advance.

    Doesn't matter at all. Ytz14s used to be the go to battery upgrade. Strangely it has more power than the OE battery but is physically smaller by about 20 cm. Pack it out with a slab of polystyrene. A bit of firm cardboard would do as temporary packing.

    I used to run sat nav, heated grips, heated clothing and auxiliary lights on mine. Battery power was never an issue with the ytz. Tbh I used to run that lot okay on the standard battery. Upgraded it when it started playing up at about 4 years old.

    Thanks johnjo,going to go with the JMT version of the yuasa as cannot afford one of them.

    Doh, I knew I should have said about 1 inch. I was trying to be clever and use those metric thingys.

    The battery doesn't affect the performance in what accessories can be run ''!'' it's the alternator and regulator ! When engine is running !
