Just picked up my '23 1200RS and the manual says the battery must be removed to charge.

I was hoping to put on a plug to hook to a charge/maintenance type charger while not being ridden.

Will the lithium ion Battery Tender do this without frying any electronics on the bike while battery is installed and hooked up?

Mine is on it right now.
I think it means for extended non-use of the battery.
Then remove it and charge it away from the bike.
I wonder if that's necessary in the winter.
Any battery experts wanna weigh in on this.
Are Li Ion batteries that different from lead acid in this regard.
I never removed a lead acid battery over the winter.

    Appreciate your reply.

My battery was always hooked up to the tender when it is in the garage, year around, for at least seven years at a time. Never out of the bikes.

I want to do that with the lithium battery.

    Me too.
Seems like we have to keep the Li Ion battery away from freezing temps though. Bummer!

This is what I asked the Battery Tender folks:
"I recently purchased your Battery Tender Junior 800 for the Li Ion battery in my Triumph Speed Triple.
I understand I can just keep it hooked up to the leads attached to the battery during the riding season.
The leads stick out just under the seat.
What is the procedure for winter charging?
Can I just keep the Junior 800 plugged into the battery on the bike?
Or do I need to remove the battery due to freezing temps?
If so, and the battery is fully charged when I remove it, do I need to plug it into the Junior 800 or will it keep its charge through the winter.
This is my first Li Ion battery and I don’t want to damage it.
    Thank you"

    Their answer:
"You can leave the charge connected all winter. In maintenance mode there will be constant current going through the battery and this will keep it from freezing."
