    Hi Folks,

This is cut/paste from a different thread in the Lounge section.
Where a forum member was asking about a topbox for his Bonnie.

To cut a long story short. 3 of us have ended up buying this 35 litre model. They are the grand total of just £19.39 inc free p+p!

I currently own 4 genuine Triumph panniers, 2 genuine BMW panniers, a 45L GivI topbox & an ancient Rickman topbox I've owned for over 30yrs.

The box below is very close to the quality of all the luggage I own (obviously better than the Rickman!) Delivered for under £20!

If your in the market for a topbox? I can highly recommend one of these. I'm sure you could pick faults if it was £150? However it isn't! :grinning:

Have a look & if you fancy one? Type this number into the Ebay search box 263148825552

...."Mine arrived today. It's not fitted. Just laid in place for a few photos....

Mounting plate on top. It came with a few built in scratches. Nothing that bit of paint wouldn't cure though.

It's damn near GivI quality & a blatant rip off of the way the Givi lid shuts/locks.
If I'd paid £50 for it? It would still have been a bargain.
It genuinely is that good lads! For under £20 they're a steal! :grinning:

A tiny bit on the small side for a large tourer like the Trophy. However it doesn't look silly small. So it should be spot on for your Bonnie @Andy-K2 & your Speedmaster @dilligaf"....

Post a photo of the rack Tucker.
If it's the kind that's part of a pillion backrest? Then you'll really struggle. Having said that, nothing is impossible mate.

A photo would be handy mate.
If it's the type I'm thinking of? The lid on the topbox won't open fully as it'll hit the backrest?

    Nice one mate! :)
It looks like a good/solid bit of kit & well worth every penny.
Obviously the downside could have been its longevity?
However, as you've had yours for a year. I guess that solves that one :grinning:

I see no reason why it wouldn't last you for many years to come?

As I said earlier. Givi have some serious competition here. At approx 1/10th of the price!
Well, they do until their lawyers can track down the Chinese sweatshop that are copying their boxes & charging next to feck all for them? :joy:

    Good evening everyone.
    My name's Jez & I'm a topboxaholic! :kissing:

Don't worry Dougie. Two of the Triumph panniers & this latest topbox will be going with the Trophy when I advertise it in approx 2 months time.
The other 2 Triumph panniers & the Givi topbox are for my Sprint. The BMW panniers are going on Asbo (with Yamaha badges). When I can be bothered to fabricate the brackets?
The ancient Rickman is used as a tools storage box in a cupboard.

The garage does look like a hard luggage retirement home though mate! o_O

If fitting it to a thunderbird it will fit on the rack but you will need to take the backrest off so that you can open/close it.
I fitted a top box to mine and took the backrest off but used the rack and bottom part of the backrest.
Mine has the quick release Triumph backrest.

    Hi Gary,
I've been thinking about how @Tucker 1963 could use one on his T-Bird.

If the mounting plate fits without issue? Then the topbox should as well?
He'll struggle to open the lid fully whilst the box is on the bike. Due to the backrest getting in the way.
However, is it a big deal to lift the box off to access its contents? Then refit it to the mounting plate. It would only add approx 20 seconds to the procedure & he could have a bargain price hard box instead of a potentially more expensive & less secure tail pack/roll bag.
