Hi all! i was looking for a forum dedicated to Triumph motorcycles and found this one i am new to the forum, so i thought i would introduce myself. I live in the netherlands, currently 41 years old. I only have my drivers licence for almost 4 years now.... Always wanted to ride a motorcycle since i was 18, but my parents talked me out of it... they told me it was better to get my car licence first, so i did. After that i started driving Classic Mini's.... so all my money went to thoses I have had 4 classics in my past. But driving on two wheels was something i still wanted to do, so finally i decided that it was time.... My brother owned a BMW r1100r, and driving that made me love the power at low end, and so i started on a BMW r1100s: After driving that for a year, i noticed my knees would lock up when i drove this bike for more than one hour.... it was to small So i traded that one in on a BMW r1200rs, this fitted me much better. I loved the bike! meanwhile my wife had the bright idea to get her motorcycle licence aswell!! Awsome idea! And because her legs are not that long, finding a bike that she would fit on without lowering the bike was not easy. She also is pretty picky on what she does and doesn't like..... When i sent her a photo of i bike i saw for sale, she was in love..... and here it all went wrong We got this beautifull 2009 Street Triple for her: as we can cut our own stickers, i changed some things for her, because she loves her white/pink/gold (and yes, as you can see in the background.... we currently own a "new" Mini Cooper S convertible (r52)) and since that day i also took her bike out for a spin once in a while.... As i said, this is where it all went wrong, and i mean: for me and my BMW.... I loved the way the street triple drives so much...... i traded in my r1200rs after 2 years of owning it, and got this beauty: a 2021 Street Triple R and i LOVE IT..... so now.... we have 2 triumphs in the garage LOL
@BadBert Fantastic intro and terrific machinery. Welcome to the family. I can see you will be a very useful member here with lots to talk about and see. Joe
Dank je @Vulpes !! En ach, een witte street is ook goed Thanks all!!! @Eldon this is a 1992 Aprilia AF1 futura 50cc I had one just like this when i was 16: a couple of years ago i got the oppurtunity to buy one again, and just for nostalgia i did When i got it, it was not exactly how mine was back then, so i made changes to it to make it the same. Just the top speed is different... Dutch laws state the max speed should be 45 kilometers per hour. Back then the top speed was 135..... but this was not with a 50cc.... it was "a bit tuned" Now 65
THanks all! the first mod i want to do to the STr is adding a switch for the dipped beam. This way i can have only the "eyebrows" on (and rear light)
