    Hi Guys,

As mentioned last year. Our lights & tree etc have to go up at the beginning of Dec. It stops her-in-doors banging on about it!

Yesterday she put the tree up & decorated the house. Today I put the outside lights up. It looks like Santa's Grotto but anything for a quite life eh!

Thinking I was the only person in the street to have put lights up so early? I slinked out round the local shop earlier (under the cover of darkness)
Only to find there are 5 other houses within 500m of me with loads more lights!
I now feel better about our fairly subtle (by comparison) grotto.

When do your lights etc go up? Or are you a Bah Humbug like myself?

For anyone who has kids. I get the whole Santa's Grotto look.
However, we don't have kids (thankfully)

I only comply with her requests to emulate the decorations in Trafalgar Square cos it's easier than saying no.

Having said that, it has made me feel a bit more festive.

    I might have a drink?

    Well.... Apparently it's Christmas?

I flat refuse to waste my time on a feckin tree,If er indoors and the boys want a bloody tree they can get it themselves .... same for the decorations,And NOTHING outside ,Mind you before we lost our old cat it used to be fun watching her demolish it ....The dog tries to do a proper job on it but bottles out when the wife screams,The cat was made of much stronger stuff ....I miss that little thug:cool:

    I did exactly that Gary.
Straight after I was sure I'd accrued enough brownie points from putting the Christmas lights up!

The tree, it's decorations and lights are still in my loft and will remain there for as long as I can get away with it.

I can’t believe that was too subtle so you must be being obtuse :)

My neighbour was quick off the mark this year. I was only 25% of the way through putting our lights up when you took your photo

She's put the tree up and decorated the house. Like most of you I just do as I'm told so the outside decorations have all gone up this past weekend.

So, today I got a call from my friendly roofer to say he'd be round before Christmas to clean the roof and the guttering, a job we have been waiting some time for.

It's either all got to come down to let him do the roof and guttering and then get put back up again(her plan!) or I've got to put him off until after Christmas and wait 'til he can fit us in to his busy schedule again!

There are no prizes for guessing which way this is going to go!

    :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS !!!!

Trees went up (I've limited her to 3 but there were 5 one year including one outside!) yesterday along with all the inside lights. I did my bit and put the outside lights up but we were a bit slow compared to some neighbours. Managed to fit new lights (indicators) to the Bonnie as well! :):)

Well they went up today as my ears were hurting due to the neighbours doing their bloody decorations and lights yesterday!!

I have had to alert Birmingham Airport just in case landing aircraft think my driveway is the runway,as we have outdone ourselves this year with lights!!!!!
