After riding CBR600RRs back to when they first came out as Hurricanes decided to try a Triumph. Not entirely voluntary, my CBR was stolen. But...

Only had my 2014 Street Triple R ABS with 4500 miles for 3 days but absolutely love it. Gotta admit the bar height weirds me out but getting used to it. Also temporarily riding standard shift pattern (GP conversion on the way). Has an Arrow exhaust which sounds nice but I want to take the baffle out. Suggestions on that welcome. It appears to be a single allen screw but my wrenches can't get straight on them.

Really impressed so far. Much more tractable and absolutely loves the twisties.

Riding out tomorrow to check out a few independent Triumph service shops. Luckily Austin has quite a few (5 within 4 miles of me) so not stuck with the dealer.

 

Only way I could see to get GP shift is a kit from TTRignitions which also includes a quickshifter.

Matte silver bike. I have the flyscreen but it has never been mounted. Ordered everything needed to mount from a shop in the UK.

Has the L Triumph bar end mirror. I want both so ordered a non-Triumph brand pair. Will sell the Triumph one if anyone is interested. {Haven't read the terms yet. I apologize if that offer is wrong.}

Shorty levers ordered. Does anyone actually like long levers? Why aren't shorties standard and you replace if you want longer?

Came with frameless saddlebags and a tail duffle. Never had luggage beyond a tank bag before. Since the saddlebags don't have a bike affixed frame may actually use them.

Live in an apartment and probably a bit paranoid after loss of my CBR. Have a brake disc lock/alarm, handlebar lock {locks the front brake down to the throttle} and a 16 lb hardened chain to lock it to the building/a pole. Bike has an immobilizer. Not sure what else can be done.

So far in looking around the net it seems like swapping handlebars to something lower ends up with clearance problems. I'm not looking to go all the way back to clip-ons. Just a little lower. Cafe rather than motocross. Any advice appreciated.
