America single seat question

My 2014 model has the full double seat if I was to fit a single seat I guess I would need to change
the post type catch under the centre of my seat that is operated via the ring pull thing on the side,
to accept a bolt is this correct ? or if I remove this catch(which I haven't done) does it perhaps have
a threaded hole underneath it ?

my 06, 10 and new 12 speedmasters all had threaded hole in the mudguard when I removed the seat catch..
best thing to do is remove the catch to find out, there's two 8mm nuts on the underside of the mudguard, secure those while you unscrew the two small Allan bolts, should take you no more than 5mins and I'll be surprised if the mudguard doesn't have a threaded hole.
get stuck in, speedys look much better with single seats.

Yes you was correct Bazz, Though I did not secure them nuts and couldnt even get away into them
instead I just observed the situation with a torch looked under rear muddy and along with them two
small bolts I can see a threaded hole just waiting !! Just got to find a single seat now.
