Bonneville T100 2014 air cooled : Serviced and air box baffle removed and resealed airbox, SAI removed but not fully, took metal thingy off and pipes down to air box just pump thing running but going nowhere , delete plugs put in cylinder head my brother in law did the work I watched having done this now runs like a dog at low revs if at all its terrible and to make matters worse the oil light flickers until I rev it ????, the oil thing started after I did the 20 minute reset 3 times and yes there is plenty of oil in it . Prior to service and airbag baffle removal i had already removed snorkel, Blocked SAI pipe with marble , new air filter and bell mouth cover and was stunning great but not now, I have attached a booster plug but this doesn't seem to make a difference. Am I hopefully to take it that the oil display light intermitting flickering is not connected to the other issue or have we knocked something when removing petrol tank or doing the 3 x engine reset do something it shouldn't of done ?. EML yellow engine management light came on after I serviced and removed baffle, went out again after 3 x 20 minute engine reset thing, came on again after I connected Booster plug and stayed on after 3 x more 20 minute engine reset cycles although stopped bike as soon as I road it down road as was still running terribly and was concerned at re oil light , this wasn't on when riding just at idle and flickering. and should I as recommended and mentioned before just go ahed and order the TTP tune from triumph twin power and will this solve the problem. Or could we have done something else, left something off ( very doubtful ) ???. appreciate any guidance or help as I am now flipping sulking and very worried my beautiful Bonnie will never be the same again .. Thanks
Best to put the bike back to how it should be, or take it to a Triumph garage and get them to put it right...
Playing around like this works OK, if ONE: You have some background in this sort of thing, TWO: You are not modifying a EFI engine. ...J.D.
As said, the first thing I would do is reverse the procedure you've just had done and see what happens. While it's true, the electronic EMS on your Triumph can make some adjustments to air/fuelling mods it can only do so within certain parameters and if they fall outside these you'll have problems. If the engine runs so bad at idle it's on the verge of stalling, that could make the oil light flicker. I've seen that on other engines.
