I've suddenly got a spare £1500 to spend on a second bike. It will only be used for a couple of times a month, mainly around the New Forest and surrounding areas.
At first I thought I'd get something old and Japanese - there are loads of Diversions, Fazers & Bandits in apparently good nick available, but I've noticed there are also quite a few Sprints around for the same amount of money. I'm not too concerned about mileage, just general condition, as it won't be used very much and will be garaged, so what do you guys think ? Is an old Sprint worth considering, or should I steer clear ? I don't want to have to spend a lot of time in the garage with it to keep it going !
Any other suggestions as to what to buy would be welcome, but pls bear in mind I'm quite a big lump at 16 stone and 5'10" - I won't be taking any pillion though.
    Cheers all and ride safe.

    Thanks jack.
One thing I forgot to mention is that I prefer an upright riding position and I've noticed that quite a few threads re Sprints talk about the need for bar risers, so maybe a Sprint isn't for me after all if I have to do things to it.
ZZR would be nice, but probably wasted on the sort of roads it's destined for and of course I might be tempted to just open the taps a bit too wide !
    Search continues....

Have a look at a Trident - 900 for preference, but not essential as the 750 is not too far behind on power, though a a bit lacking perhaps on torque (long time since I rode one).
For your reference I am around 9lbs heavier and 2" taller than you:eek:, and my Trident 900 has carried me and SWMBO, plus luggage, across much of France and most of the UK. Highly recommended and available within your budget.:)

Hi mate, I'm a bigger lump than you and I ride a Tiger 955i - upright riding position, 50 mpg; very comfy and mine came with full matching luggage. Beautiful torquey motor too !!

I just brought a Kawasaki GTR 1000 A bit more defined than the ZZR plus Shaft drive. They can be picked up cheap and are mile munchers. plenty of poke too
