I'm a new guy with my 1st Triumph so I'm here today to get opinions on making my '09 Speedmaster louder. As I've learned that YouTube is ripe with the old saying of "eveybody has 2 things in common...a**holes & opinions",& that there is no such thing as a dumb question,I'm turning to the forum for expert opinions on these 2 subjects.First,is it a dumb idea to drill a 1/2" hole in my stock mufflers to make it louder or can I put on 16" slash-cut slip-ons without needing to revamp the engine? Also, where can I find floorboards that are compatible to a Speedmaster that won't cost me an arm & a leg? I'm pretty sure there is a vast majority of expert opinions on this forum rather than on YouTube so I appreciate those of you who are of sound mind & know Triumphs. Thanks for the help folks! James Taylor( & again, pictures are coming soon)
Hi and welcome I can understand the wish for more noise but, believe me, on a long run it gets irritating in the end. Triumph TORs are a good compromise...not too loud and easy to remap the ECU. Any footboards for the Bonneville America will also fit a Speedmaster. Aftermarket ones might need more modifications than justifies the cost. Just my opinion.
Hi James and welcome to the forum I fitted some Thunderbird half boards that were 1/4 price of full boards and love em
