hi all Change of circumstance has found myself back on the 955 (t595 10 years ago), now i never had wrist problems back then but 10 years older and its not nice. Any sugestions on reasonbly priced risers for a 2006 daytona 955i , (black framed late model), any one fitted any? Apart from bars its great to be back on the triumph Cheers all
Hi thanks ill have a look, had the st2050 4 years back found that quite comfy as standard but the tona 955i definately more agresive for the wrists but im on a pretty tight budget, ( thats why ive had to drop back from a 16 plate machine to the 06), but ill check them out,
The only solution is to get rid of it, sold my Fireblade last year and bought a Street Triple, best thing I ever did. The straw that broke the camels back was a ride from Oxford to Lymington last year, I got caught in heavy traffic and was crippled for a week.
Afraid that's not an option as ive just down traded from late model z100sx tourer that was comfortable but job and money issues forced the downtrade
Hi Foxy, I was going to take the piss until I read about your change in circumstances causing a change in bikes. Something like "98, 99 - change hands".........................
Foxy...3 things 1) Grip Puppies Search Amazon, these go over the existing grips and increase the diameter with a firm foam grip This means your hands aren't as closed as normal and are more relaxed 2) Check the position of the brake and clutch levers are in line with your wrist If you are having to 'fold' your wrists back or forwards to accommodate your riding position then this can cause significant discomfort 3) Weight distribution Do not rest any weight on your hands when riding, ensure your shoulders are relaxed and you body weight is supported by your core body strength If weight is pushing forward onto your hands, any bump or pothole will jar your wrists, elbows and shoulders Now for something completely different: my daughter made chocolate brownie cake with marshmallows mixed in....bliming delicious
I’ve bought a bike with grip puppies already fitted and for me they made the bike feel really odd, not for me at all. One solution is to find an early Speed Triple top yoke and see of traditional handlebars will fit, it’s just if they will clear the fairing.
One thing that I have heard that works is that silicone pimply stuff that sticks to each side of the fuel tank, I think it’s called Eazi Grip, helps you grip the tank with your knees thus taking some weight of the wrists. Mate of mine does 20,000 a year on an R1000RR and swears by it.
If you're on a tight budget what about these https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/45mm-CNC-B...e&pageci=2f9c2c7b-2099-4843-b759-c873cafc2a88
Foxy955i Welcome to the Family. Those pictures will go down a storm on here raise you to top bloke with the colour. I found with my sprint the grips were hard and changed them for gel grips. Also I believe in my garage somewhere I have a set of bar risers which I had professionally milled down a couple of mill just to let the cables stay loose. If you are interested send me a message with your details or a work address I will throw them in the post to you. Not sure what condition they are in now but should be enough to try. Ride Safe Joe.
