Hi all ... getting excited and ready to take possession of a speed tomorrow (and say farewell to my '10 ST3) :sob:

need help on a few accessory decisions:

    1) Heated grips: Oxford or OEM and why?

    2) Sliders (axle and body): Triumph or aftermarket (R&G)

    3) for those with a single-sided swing arm (speed), are you using a hybrd stand using a pin (Pitbull), standard rear using dual rear bobbins or adding a center stand?

Im more quality than price sensitive, though the grips at 375 vs 100 for oxfords (and easier install), that's a hard sell unless I'm missing something.

    Thank you kindly!

I've gone from cold feet about trading bikes to a damn giddy 5 year old as this day approaches.

Welcome Warren and congrats on the new bike.
I’d go for the Oxford grips, they’re very good for the money. The OEM ones will be a neater install but as you say more expensive. Plus I’ve not tried them so can’t comment on how effective they are.
The pitbull stands look good, again never used one. I use a 1Jac stand which picks up on the frame to lift the whole bike off the floor, highly recommended.
As for sliders, I don’t use them so can’t comment. The only time I would ever have needed them, they wouldn’t have been much use anyway

    yikes - glad you're ok (I hope)
    That jack looks incredible

That kinda how I'm leaning on the grips too, though the integration is a sweet feature as I'm a minimalist .... but at $100 and no negative complaints, hard to go wrong there.

Well it took 10 months off work before I could think about riding again but I’m back to about 90% now, so it’s all good.
The main drawback for me with the Oxford grips is the controller which is a bit chunky and not particularly easy to make look ok. I’m a bit of a minimalist myself ;)

I've used Oxford grips on previous bikes and found them much better than the Triumph ones fitted to my Tigger. Also found the rubber grips on the Oxford grips last longer

I've had Oxford heated grips on my Honda and I'm not a fan.
I found that when giving it some they felt fat in my hands and not as connected as say Renthals grips.
How big are your hands (I'm a size 9 glove)?
    Plus,
The heating effect is on the inside of the palm naturally but its the outside of the knuckles that get cold. In the end I took them off and went back to what felt right to me.
The Honda factory ones VFR items I think (and probably the Triumph ones) are noticeably slimmer in outer diameter than the Oxford variant.

Maybe sit on a few bikes and see how they seem to you?

    bought it !!!

got enough of a discount (> $2,000) on the demo that should I want to revert to a 765, most the depreciation got taken off the table.

But I rode this, the MT, KTM SD and Tuono and of these ,this fit my personality and style the best !!!. SD was close though, really close.

765 vs 1050 was the hard call, but coming off a 675 and always mentally comparing to the bmw RS that I have, I needed to make the jump and the 765 seems like too little of an jump.

Dealer had MVs there (no one carries it anywhere near me) and that was tempting as I almost bought a Brutalle RR 3 years ago and regret not having done so (motorcycle porn).

Held off on grips though. None in stock anyway and will just see how it goes. When its really cold I'm on the BMW, so its just to add mild comfort on cooler spring and fall days when I have to go to work at 6a or am up on the mountain passes messing around.

I'll be putting Rizomas on the swing arm, dealer fitted triumph protection on the frame and front fork for free, so that was an easy call.

will buy some stickers (pads), front light indicators (US = large ugly orange filament bulbs) and a tail tidy today online. Maybe that radiator cover too ...

    yipee !!!!

thanks for the replies everyone !

Factory heated grips on my Speed RS are the same size/thickness as std ones pretty much.

Welcome to the Family. Drop us all a picture of the new steed when you can get the grin of your face. Heated grips I had them on my t120 wasn't all that impressed by them. Think oxford are much better.
    Ride Safe & Enjoy.

The Yamaha heated grips are a good option, nice integrated design.

24 hr road trip and got the demo bike (much to my local dealer's chagrin who said he was within $1500 to "save" me from a track demo bike with 250 miles on it)

Seating position will take a bit of getting used to as I felt like I was frequently sliding forward when going slow (perfect when "normal" speeds), but grip pads haven't arrived yet

anyone make an adjustment or buy a different gear shift level?
Seems an inch too short for my size 12s and relative to my other bikes?

great frickin engine ... didn't mess with suspension yet, but seemed pretty close out of the box, and the brakes were sublime!

Loved the sound ... enough that I'm going to hold of on those SC Projects (low) that I was itching for ....

But gotta fix that clutch pedal somehow ... or retrain my brain on foot positing for casual riding.

Just need 1" longer - famous last words !!!
