Has been an awesome bike since new in 2012, but just now a bit sick in the shed. Bonneville T100 starter button click. Battery ok, after recharging for lights, removed lights fuse. Replaced solenoid relay for new but still click, tho less noise in the click, coming from same area left hand side cover. There are two other relays just to the rear of the solenoid.
Have been trying to get a suitable workshop manual to trace it out but no luck yet.
A thing i saw online was lights go through another relay to stay off until bike starts, maybe it needs replacing as well. Any ideas for whats happening will be appreciated thanks.

@Bradle Welcome to the family. I did reply earlier doesn't seem to have come up or i pressed the wrong button. As said do check the battery as they need to be tiptop especially when under load. There was a topic here somewhere as to how strong a battery should be. Try the clutch and side stand switches as they play up some times and get sticky just clean and spray with electrical spray and a squirt into the switch gear. Check around the headstock and ignition switch for breakages and general connections. Wish you lots of luck and do let us all know how you get on. Perhaps a picture when its cured just tap the upload a file button and show it of.

On my 2010 efi model the lights always stayed on during the start up procedure.
There was an after market ‘doohickey’ that kept the lights off until you hit the hi beam to allow more battery voltage to reach the starter motor.
Maybe it was all sorted by 2012 but from memory there was something that inhibited the start up unless the battery was in tip top condition.

Thanks Kinjane. Yeah the lights on mine have always stayed during start up also, I think newer models have relay up under the tank, but I can’t see where on this bike. I’ll get him go in’ eventually!
