Well decided to go out for a run this afternoon and it turned out to be a bit of a strange one headed out to Abergele and up to llanfair t h turned off for denbigh and all well pleasant ride to mold but there is a real difference of road conditions heading towards mold was like being on a different road compared to the previous week coming the other way towards denbigh where the road was so much smoother and in better overall condition lots of gravel opposite junctions and didn't feel safe to do much overtaking just as well the car in front wasn't hanging around then headed to the old stores for a break and drink but to my surprise closed so I continued up towards corwen but turned off into an area on the outskirts of Wrexham which during my days with white arrow and all their name changes over the coming years
( now Yodel) And continued all around the villages that made up my delivery route then decided to head to Wrexham town onto the A483 for a spell and off again towards mold turning off through Hope and then towards Dobshill where I eventually pulled over and had ten minutes to give my arse a break but this was around 2 hours or more without any other stops and could of carried on to home joining the A55 but thought it was time to stretch my legs and have a few puffs on the vape but I thought this was still a good amount of time in the saddle without a break and if I was riding purposefully I could of been the other side of the country in the time riding today so I think I have cracked it the combination of my shark Spartan helmet my old glasses with the arms straightened and iPod with the smallest earbuds I could find that was another reason for stopping only got 34 songs on the iPod and all played so had to start it again old iPod that I can't get apple store to open and download more so it's a new MP3 or 4 so off home quick burst down the 55 to try the cruise control then off at caerwys to avoid the average speed camera at rhuallt hill for about a 3 hour ride but just felt of a strange one I just couldn't of planned the run as I just rode and just the fact that the planned stop was closed it changed the whole afternoon just one of those well what do I do now : unamused:

I discovered a fabulous, sweeping route which was ruined by average speed cameras across the moors in Denbighshire on my travels on Wednesday :sob:.....after a quick Google it seems it was the Evo Triangle that I had been riding on.

The average speed cameras have ruined many a decent route. I remember the Cat and Fiddle falling victim sometime in the mid-late 90's I think. That particular route became very high profile with some bike magazines using it for bike tests/reviews. Prior to the cameras the Police were using a spotter plane with marked bikes to do the pulling over.
The old coast road to Cleethorpes through Bawtry grew some cameras around the same time and now the alternative route through Barnby Moor to Saunby also has the them. There's no way to cheat these cameras using legal number plates.
I remember an article in MCN years ago where a guy had designed a switch operated, flip up number plate with the intention of selling them. Apparently, the Police paid him a visit and although the plate itself was technically legal and they could not stop him selling them for "off road use" they said they would attempt to prosecute anyone caught with one on a bike as there was only one reason you would fit one in their opinion.

Yes what happened to the good old days when mr.plod would jump out from behind a bush with his radar gun in his hand good old days I was had a few years ago coming down Ashton hill on the 483 towards Queensferry and what they did there was time you they waited in a layby opposite a blue painted kerb stone and when you went under the foot bridge further up you cast a shadow and they could time you but that is another area that's adopted these average speed cameras in fact they are active all the way to the deeside industrial park it's just not playing fair anymore I've got a little device I had in the car that would pick up on all types of cameras working off frequency but got to a point I'd turn it off because it was forever going off even the small camera you see above traffic lights would trigger a reaction so you just ended up paranoid it is just easier to keep your eyes open saying that these modern bikes with all the gadgets and TFT screens you need a lot more than two eyes to stay focused
