ive just fitted a new clutch into my thunderbird everything came out and went back in perfectly we then bled the clutch and put it all back together but when i tried to use it it seems like the plates cant engage properly so its slipping all the time ,so today i took it to pieces again reassembled it carefully but the same result the thing will not engage now totally stumped

Did all the plates go back in the right order, I see from the parts list there are friction plates, clutch plates wd & clutch plate bwd. in the middle of the stack ?

were all the plates free to move on assembly and were there any marks on the edges of the clutch center or basket slots where the plates might hang up instead of moving ?

Glad its sorted, just keep an eye on the clutch as I would have expected the slave cylinder to return under normal spring pressure unless the piston was sticking for some reason.
