Has anyone fitted a 5V USB socket to a Street Triple for a sat nav - but not on the handlebars? The only (official)instructions that I can find are to fit a 12V auxiliary power outlet and, frankly, the method of installation is not easy nor is the position useful...and I would still have to use an adapter for 5V.

Previous bikes have had a 5V outlet under the seat so I can just plug my sat nav or phone into it but Triumph seem to have overlooked this.

It's the only thing that I can criticise about the bike and a simple solution doesn't seem to be out there.

    Thanks

    Dave

Pop up the back seat and look forwards.
USB connector straight in front of you or have I misunderstood your question?

If this is correct, then I’m going to look a complete twat! I thought that I had looked everywhere! Off to the garage to have a look now. Cheers, Dave.

Yep, you are correct. And to my absolute shame, it’s listed in the handbook under “Universal Serial Bus (USB)”. I hear cries of “RTFM”.
    Thanks Eldon

That's what the forums for buddy :p

I have the factory one under the seat and another one on the handlebars as I find it handier.

    Good tip...
I’ve ordered one that I’m going to connect straight to the battery (with in-line fuse and switch) so I can use it without the ignition switched on.

Well you are rocking now. I do hope you said sorry to the bike. And as Eldon said that's what it's all about. And fairly sure we all ask a question then wished we hadn't.

Mines direct fed off the battery via fuse.
