'They' are re-launching the Nokia 3310 this month, a revamped improved model of the old one, a bog standard phone, not 'Smart' but functional, I WANT ONE!!
Cost will be about £47, and it will have a better battery life too.
Now, if only they would re-launch the original Nokia 101, not the 'C', that was my 1st mobile phone, and one of the best, only with-out the call cost of 40p per minute!
What else would you like to see re-launched?

    NO, NO, NO NO, !!!!!!

First you guys are nostalgic about crappy old 2 smoke motor/pedal bikes and now mobile phones !!!!

I love my smart phone and would never return just to something that makes calls. A tiny percent of my time on my phone is making calls. I use all the apps, sat-nav, calculator, this forum, Facebook, alarm, weather, camera, video,.........., the list is endless.

When I had a top end nokia, I bought a GPS receiver and installed a sat-nav program, way before smart phones existed, just so it was even more useful.

Why would I give that up ???? Nae chance.

Love my Smartphone, best invention in last 20 years.

I just will not sign up to this 'technology' so big industry, banks and any one else can cut their cost at my expense!
Too much possibility of 'phlishing', cyber crime, etc, it's bad enough on my gas fueled desk top, with-out giving the opportunity to other devises.
I use my phone for calls, odd text and a few photo's, very few have my number, if they want me they call my land line if they have my number.
Bad enough being tracked by mobile signal, I give big brother the least oppertunity to know where I've been, this country is one of the worst in the World for serveylence with camera's every where, if war ever breaks out the public will be severely restricted any way, if not closed down, so much for your tablets and smart phones then.
Far too complicated, not interested, end of!
The 3310 is aimed at people who want to make call's, texts and play 'snake', there are a lot of people out there like that and they are not all old farts either.:)

Do all my banking on the phone, move money around accounts, pay my credit cards, can check if payments are paid, and an active view of my balance. Love it. Not having to look back at a month old statement, going to a cash machine for a balance, I can see the last 6 months and even check out of a payment made on my cards. Was very useful when I was fighting with the holiday company last year.

Had a couple of incidents, usually on-line, but both times the bank has sorted it out very quickly and one time I got a refund from the bank and the company !!!:D If I didn't have the ability to check my bank regularly and easily, I probably have missed it, so bit of a double edged sword. But my account wasn't hacked because of phone use, guess just on-line payment make you slightly vulnerable.

And I know I am really not interesting enough for the government to track, and if war breaks out, shall make sure I throw it away before I join the resistance.;)

Im with mr O here, My office is wherever i'm working so need constant access to emails etc. You want to get nostalgic? Once upon a time all we had were phoneboxes, Oh Yeah baby!! lets go back to them, they didnt involve crappy signal weak battery, you could shelter from the rain the excitement of wether they had been vandalised or not and wether they were full of piss. Wow oh for the good old days!! Ah Ha a smelly piss app could bring it all closer

I'm with Mr O and crispey on this one - not just smart phones but other technology as well.
Why on earth would you want to go back to some crappy stone age mobile?
If all you want is good battery life - turn everything off on your smart phone and just make calls - it will last just as long!

I always carry a spare old phone with me for just-in-case emergencies. The battery drains like a sieve on my smartphone - can't go past 24hrs if you actually want to use it at all. The beauty of the 3310 is the combination of ergonomics and long long battery life. And you can pick up factory refurbished ones post free from China for under £19. Oh, and you can get sim card adapters to hold modern mini-sims.

Surely a smart fone battery lasts a long time if you just use it as a fone and turn everything else off,all the crappy apps etc.
My partners fone needs a charge half way thru the day, mine lasts a couple of days usually unless i use the internet to find my customers as I am in a new job and like most companies, mine think we are mind readers and can find places with the wrong address, postcode, no phone number etc.
The old nokias were great in their day but so was the abacus for calculating and I bet you all use your calculator to work stuff out, I know I do.

Which leaves you with a phone/text device, just that bit bigger than an old skool Nokia ;) Still struggling to understand why anyone disses a cheap and cheerful back-up mobile with a loooong-life battery for those emergencies when the smart fecker has run out of juice. Mine also makes a cracking good alarm clock.
