    Hi all

I have just purchased a 2020 Speed Triple s with 7000 on the clock. It came with a quickshifter but was disabled. The owner seemed clueless if it even had one, as I asked him before viewing whether the bike had one or any other addons, and he said no, it's totally stock. I must admit I didn't spot it until I got the bike home or the comfort seat or the heated grips as none of that was mentioned in the description, and he didn't mention it either.

I did reactivate the quickshifter and rode it for a couple of hundred miles, and it seemed to work fine. I did have a couple of missed gears once, going from 4th to 5th that I have recorded and another one, but I can't remember what gear. I think that was more me not pushing up hard enough on the lever, but I'm not sure as there was no loud banging into gear it just revved out.

Then I came across the thread about the quickshifter/gearbox woes so I deactivated it and tested it yesterday, full throttle third to fourth then another couple of hours testing and no issues with false neutrals or anything, so the gearbox seems OK although a bit clunky

I wish i had spotted this before I purchased it as I like quickshifters, i probably wouldn't have got it.
Coming from a MT10 that you can merrily use first to second and and bang up and down gears as much as you want without thinking you might need a gearbox rebuild after a couple of missed gears is a game changer.

What's your opinion? Too risky to even think about activating it. I have never heard of this on a bike before, it's just not something you think about on other bikes.

I purchased privately so no warranty to fall back on if the gearbox decides to explode.

It looks like it has the Triumph modification, although I'm not sure if the quickshifter itself is an updated one.
I will upload a picture of it.

I'm in two minds whether to even keep it.
