A little too fancy for what I envision a "bobber" to be. K.I.S.S. [Keep It Simple Stupid] Triumph…J.D.
Hello Guys. I’m new to Triumph’s but not new to motorcycles. I’ve been riding for quite awhile now and currently have 2 Norton’s. I put my deposit down on a Bobber TFC. From the pictures I love the bike and the fact that it has Brembos and Öhlins. The only thing I’m not loving is the Union Jack on the tank. No offense but it just seems to stand out to loud for my taste. I’m curious if I’ll be able to add knee pads over top of the flag. Hopefully the same size of the flag or slightly larger than the flag. What holds the knee pads on? Adhesive? Also, are there any things I should do to the bikes engine such as breather, spark plugs, plug wires, etc? On my two Norton’s I had to swap the ignition coil and spark plug wires to Bosch, swap to iridium NGK plugs, add a transmission breather vent to prevent starter gasket blow out and prevent gasket oil leaks. Thanks guys! Pretty excited to finally get a Triumph!!!
It'll certainly be different to the Nortons your'e used to if they're old enough to benefit from lead and coil swaps etc. should be very easy to enjoy Usually it's 3M adhesive used on the Triumph knee pads; pretty sticky stuff but certainly not impossible to remove. .
My Norton’s are 2016 and 2017. Beautiful bikes, mine have been trouble free, but thanks to the ignition upgrades I made. Many guys on the norton forums have had some problems with theirs. How do I post pictures on here? Thank you.
I purchased a Bobber TFC and brought her home yesterday. I just couldn't get the thing out of my mind, kept watching the YouTube videos. The bike is even more impressive in person, not a detail left untouched, absolute perfection in my minds eye. The seating position is a little odd with clip-ons, but I'm going to learn to love it. Suspension and brakes are shear perfection. Triumph is just killing it this year....
Congratulations on your new bike! Please send us some photos and perhaps post a little review for us, @Ultratoad.
