Hi All I am looking for a service manual for a 2018 Speed Twin. I have contacted Haynes and they only have the 2019 and they say it is not for the 2018. I have had a look at some links on this forum but cannot find a service manual. Only an Owners manual. I need the wiring diagram so that I can sort out a starting problem. I think I have a stuck start solenoid. I hit the start button and nothing except a click somewhere. It will bump start but I need to find the problem. Any help appreciated please. Thanks Roger
Hi Roger, Haynes manual number 6401 covers the water-cooled twins including the Speed Twins from 2016 - 2019, so will include your bike. There is a wiring diagram in the manual covering the Speed Twin. I have an unmarked copy of the manual as it also covered the Street Twin, which I previously owned. If you are interested send me a PM and make an offer, you could either collect or I'll post it to you.
Could you please post a pic of the front cover. I believe it covers 2016-2019 but not the speed twin. It only covers the 2019. I think. Otherwise I am certainly interested.
Hi Roger, I attach a couple of photos of the manual, it states on the spine 'water-cooled twins 16-19' and in the list of models the Speed Twin of 2019. In the narrative inside it states that the Speed Twin was a new model for 2019! Perhaps they mean model year 2019 which normally starts mid - late in the previous year, ie 2018. Photos attached Derek
Thought it was only the Americans which date things a year in advance. I'd expect a 2019 Speed Twin to be the one first available at beginning of 2019. (And the Americans would call that the 2020 model). Doing a quick Google gets a video dated December 2018 of the ''new 2019 Speed Twin launch evening'. Side note, I used to get an American monthly magazine and the cover date was 9 months in advance, so edition shipped in January would be dated September, bugged the hell out of me.
