Hi, new to the forums, just picked up a 2017 Street Cup for the wife, got it for a good deal I'd say at 3k, with the catch being that part of the cam rocker retainer cracked off of the cam cap, causing the rocker for one of the intake valves to not open properly.

Just about to start on the replacement but was wondering if the engine really needs to be fully removed as it says in the manual to get the head off? It seems like it has just enough clearance to come off, or is there a common method to just rock the engine forward a little by removing the main bolt for the engine cradle?

    Thanks for any input!

You don't need to pull the whole engine. Just remove the two upper engine mount bolts and loosen the lower ones. You can then carefully rock the engine forward to get the clearance you need to lift the head off. It's a tight squeeze, but it's doable and saves a ton of work.
