2016 Triumph Commander Lt - Exhaust Servo Eliminator?

Hi, firstly if there is already a thread/s on this subject, I have tried searching. My recently purchased 2016 Thunderbird LT Commander (ABS) had at some point in it life had a exhaust valve servo eliminator device fitted. This so that the exhaust valve ca remain open and the device fools the ECU into the fact that the valve is operating.
This device is faulty and is showing an F1 fault, so this device needs replacing.

Is this something that is regular on LT's?
Is it a problem that I will be dogged with through out the time I own the bike?
Is there a more permanent less complex fix?
