My standard 2016 Thruxton still has factory suspension settings, and they are similar in harshness to my 2000 TBS. I eventually changed the TBS (since has been sold), and it helped. Loved that bike! My question on the Thruxton is.... other than rear preload, there is not much else you can do. Has anyone here changed fork valves or went to a different shock? Thanks...ft42
Hi mate and welcome Plenty on here have played about with their suspension but I don't have a Thruxton so can't offer advice I'm sure someone will be able to help you especially if you post a picture
Loads of posts in the Bonneville section on the harsh suspension. I fitted Hagon progressive springs up front with 7.5 oil and Hagon rear shocks to my 2012 Bonnie EFI What a difference! Ring them, tell them your weight, riding style etc and they will advise. Great service and technical support.
I'll check those posts. Seems you have to tinker with suspension settings to get it like you want. The TBS was, uh..."stiff", my '96 Trophy was "soft", and the Thruxton is just like the TBS. WIll get it sorted, eventually.
Intiminators are another option. Quite a bit cheaper on your side of the pond than in the U.K. I believe.
