Just read this article about the new R1. I know it has got all the bells and whistles as well as 200bhp but £17000 for the base model and £25000 for the race rep bike!! For some reason I would say that they are not going to bother BMW S1000rr sales all that much next year Looking a what else came out I would say that the BMW S1000xr is going to be the bike that will generate the most interest dependant on price. MILAN SHOW: Yamaha http://www.motorcyclenews.com/mcn/n...how-bmw-release-s1000xr-adventure-sport-bike/
The BMW S1000 XR is the bike that interests me most from all the new releases. As a former 1200 Multistrada owner I think this could be good but I've seen an interview with a BMW executive who says the price will be pitched to compete with the Ducati. If it's around £15,000 then there is no way I'm buying however nice it is. As for all the new superbikes from Honda, Kawasaki, Ducat, Yamaha, and BMW, non of them interest me, they are a showcase for their engineering abilities and racing aspirations but for real world road riding they are too extreme and uncomfortable. Disappointing that Triumph's offering is a Tweaked Tiger 800 with added electronics
There is only one word to describe the XR........wow Richard is probably right with the price as it will need to be at a premium over the GS. Looking at the Milan show somegood 250 bikes on show so come on Triumph make a model that will entice newbies
Yep. They don't grab my attention when reading MCN and I shan't be searching them out the NEC either. lol.
I've ridden the Yami MT09 and the triple engine is immense If I wanted change, then thats what I'd go for but I would want to try the new MT09 Tracer first MT-09 Tracer ABS 2015 - Motorcycles - Yamaha Motor UK
I had a test ride on an MT-09 when it was first released. I absolutely loved it, fantastic bike, but...my Mrs came with me on the test ride, and she hated it ! she hated it to the point that we had to return the bike within 20 minutes, the pillion seat was really small and rock hard, and the pegs were way too high. so that was that. If i rode a lot by myself, i'd have one without a doubt, and the Tracer looks even better, but the truth is apart from riding to work, virtually all my riding is done with Jane on the back, so i wont be having one anytime soon
Was speaking to a manager of a BMW Motorrad dealership yesterday who stated that the S1000xr would be priced under the cost of the 1200 GS so it would be under the cost of the Multistrada. Should sell really well.
