Good morning everyone. I recently purchased a 2015 Street Triple R. I'm an experienced biker. I've never really fiddled with bikes, kept them mostly standard. I need some advice on tyre pressures & suspension, as my bike seems a little hard. The tyre pressures seem a lot higher than I'm used to. My Hayabusa had lower pressures! I'm 12 st and will not be carrying a passenger. Also I want to soften the suspension. Any recommendations, other than what's in the manual?

Welcome to the family. Do hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and show the inmates your new machine. As for tyres the oem tyres are a little useless to start with. But play with the pressures and loose up to around 5 pounds pressure and just check the ride also keep an eye on the tyre tread. The suspension should have settings like pre load and spring. I usually have Hagon build my shocks to suit me and the bike. But any good race team or prep agent will sort that for you very quickly.
    Joe.

    Brilliant bike!
Try 34psi front and 36psi rear. Triumph always quote 42psi rear to cover all situations, pillion, luggage etc. Too hard for solo use, especially since its a light bike and rider in this case.
What tyres are on it? I've usually found Pirellis to deliver a softer ride than Michelins for example.
As for suspension, you could probably soften your pre-load since your pretty light, your looking to use about 1 third of your total suspension travel while sat on the bike static for normal road riding, less for sporty riding. The damping settings, I would just use what Triumph suggest in the manual for comfort, sport etc. Getting the preload in the right ballpark is the first thing you should do because if your suspension is working right at the end of its stroke, it won't be operating very effectively.

Hi and welcome! I weigh about 58 - 60kg ish I think in normal clothes at the moment and use 32 on the front and 36 on the rear of my striple - it is my first big bike though so that is just what others have recommended. I have yet to fiddle with the suspension but do need to I think!!
