2015 S3 515nv - Fork Cap On Damping Rod

Hi,

I'm changing the Fork Seals on my S3.

Do I rethread the damping rod locknut leaving 10.5 mm of thread exposed above the nut? Or does the Frok Cap srew all the way down on the damping rod?
