Hi all, As in title really. had Muddysump round yesterday to give the bike its (belated) 12000 mile service, and he highlighted that two of the linkage bearings are iffy. one in the drag link and one in the swing arm itself. I checked on Fowlers and they are showing as 17x24x25 needle roller brgs (Triumph part no. T800137) and to buy them in a nice Triumph plastic bag they are only £27.62 each I found some from Henderson Bearings itemised as Motorcycle Linkage bearings, https://www.hendersonbearings.co.uk/ta1725z-17x24x25-needle-roller-bearing-brand-neutral.html for £1.94 each. Where are others buying bearings? Muddysump also mentioned it may be easier to buy a Draglink with brgs already fitted. any one done this? Thanks all.
Bearings are just another industrial ‘commodity’. Quality is as much an issue as price and Country of Origin is seldom given when it is a good indicator of quality! You have the size so look for a reputable brand because the OEM item is plainly pricey and none too durable. https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p...ng-Open-End-Type-17x24x25mm/product_info.html Compromise?
Cheers Callumity I did find those after I had put the post up. As you say, a £1 bearing is probably made of cheese.
