Hi all, My wife has finally decided that she would like to carry out a few tweaks to her 2009 Bonneville and she’s charged me with the duty of coming up with some ideas and carrying out the work. To start with I think a seat swap and a tail tidy are in order... can anyone provide a little inspiration? Also... anything else you might suggest please do fire away! https://www.thetriumphforum.com/att...4/?temp_hash=a7d799d963abd6e3ec031612e5efb09a
Haha yeah that would be a good start... I’ve got the Bobber Black on order so can’t dissagree with your thinking!
Do you mean cosmetic or performance tweaks? Most of us Bonnie owners change the stock suspension first - fitting progressive springs at the front and the rear. Most change the indicators and rear light for something more attractive than the stock plastic ones. Fit fork gaiters for a traditional look and better protection.
If it were my own bike I’d start with the suspension but my wife’s focus is more cosmetic in this case. As mentioned a seat swap and a tail tidy seems like a good place to start
I'd agree - they may be comfortable but the King and Queen seat has to go! Quite a few owners on the forum have gone the tail tidy route.
If you or anyone else have any links to any companies offering the seats and tail tidy kits I’d be very grateful!
Bar end mirrors, lower handlebars, two into one exhaust, remove the rear foot pegs. I'll take a photo of the solo seat on mine and post it in a bit. Edit: Photo of mine looking really $h1ty after riding to work in the cr@p this morning, with really comfortable solo gel seat, £220 from Triumph. The solo with rack is c£150. And if you can find any in stock the Sixty8 seat at £180 in brown or c£55 in black/grey will give the bike a Thruxton look. I'm not sure if the cowl is included, but suspect not. Edit2: Just checked, all these are obsolete except for the solo & rack in black. Might find them on Ebay. My solo seat will probably be for sale on Ebay come the Spring when (if) I sell my Bonnie and put the stock seat back on.
definately get rid of the tail light and indicators, you could try one of these that bolts straight on to the mudguard. seat wise there's a lot to choose from, I have a thruxton seat and an ironing board seat that you could try if you like. Hagon 2810 rear shocks seem to be popular, I have them on my Thrux and they work really well
Yeah, that's the standard seat with two gel inserts, normally £220 and looks obsolete, so hard to find new.
Go on the TEC website and take a look at there stuff...great quality at reasonable prices! Got a lot of their bits in my bike!
Just needs some of those super 1950's GPO leg shields fitted to complete the look ( in GPO red, preferably, but white would do, at a push) Curly
