only got one key with my bonnie, the dealer ordered a blank for me but it is a the wrong type #T2500579, even though it is a lovely genuine triumph key, doh. the bike has only an after market key cut on a Silca MIT 2RP which is quite hard blank to get, in the uk it can only be ordered from a trade only website, it fits various cars, chryslers, mitusbishi etc and various models of KTM's, go figure. I found one in Italy but the P&P is 12 euros, key price for the blank is 8 euros. I am trying fowlers online but they list more than one key, one is the wrong one I got given but waiting for them to respond, but does anyone know the correct part number for my model. I tired a us seller on ebay but he also only seems to have the later efi 865 type key, which is the one the dealer got me. Any other way of getting a sensibly priced key blank?
the bikes not from a triumph dealer, I have contacted fowlers online so they might be able to do it that way, awaiting a response, hopefully tomorrow
When I got my 2007 Bonneville it only had one steering lock key, I contacted my local dealer and they ordered me a blank and then posted it to me. If I remember correctly they changed £8 plus postage, and my local Timpsons cut the blank for free.
according to fowler's from the vin number, my bike should use the key the dealer got for me, but it does not fit!
took a spin over to the local locksmiths I have used before, GT locksmiths in Llandeilo, they cut me two spare keys (£7 each) for it using kawasaki blanks!
