2003 Daytona 955i Oil Leak From Airbox

    Help just rode my bike when I was finished it was leaking pretty heavily out of a hose coming out the bottom of the airbox does anyone know what would cause this please help much appreciated

    I’m not familiar with your exact model Sam but there will be a number of rubber hoses attached to the airbox at various points. The one with the oil coming out of the bottom is a drain hose. It’s function is to prevent any moisture, in this case oil from building up in the airbox. One of the other, larger hoses is a breather hose and is sometimes attached to the top of the engine on the cam cover or on the crankcase. That hose is designed to vent oily gases from the engine into the airbox to be burned with the petrol/air mixture. Over time the oil builds up in the breather unit and if not cleaned out or replaced the oil gets into the airbox and finds its way to the bottom and out through the drain hose. That’s a long winded way to say your breather unit needs a good clean as will the inside of the airbox.
