I'm trying to get info on 2 up riding on a 2017 T100. I weigh in at 240 and my wife comes in at 130. Is the 900 engine strong enough to run at freeway speed of 70 with 2up? I'm not concerned with the suspension. Just the available power.

Yes, easily but you alone are at the upper end of what your shocks will handle without bottoming.

Triumph suspension, its shocking ! Up rating it makes a big difference.
T100 should be good for 70 two up all day, are your arms ? I have a fly screen which helps but anything much over 70 is hard work for long periods.

You did not mention anything about the pre-load setting you use on the rear shocks. The bike's total weight limit is 470 lbs. So 2 up should be OK. But need to set the rear pre-load to 4 or 5. Try both and see how it feels. Mine is set to 3 when my wife is with me and no complaints. But the two of us weigh a bit less.

Forgot to mention. Plenty of power at 70+ mph w/ 2 up on my Street Twin which has the same engine.

I'd definitely put new shocks on my wish list for Santa if riding two up. The engine is perfectly capable.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question about the capability of 2 up riding on the T100. Sadly, I can't find any dealer that will let me take my passenger on a test ride. I guess they want to keep her for collateral to make sure I come back.......Silly them.

Hi 41canine, can't you just go on your own to get the bike and pick up your partner 'round the corner' ?

The dealer trails you on another bike. But good idea.

Well, I found a dealer that WILL let me test ride them with my wife. It’s 80 miles away but worth it. In fact, he offered me a new T120 for $9900. That’s less than the T100. So, Wednesday we’ll try them both.
I’m not usually this lucky, but we’ll see.

Thanks for your input. What exactly don't you like about the engine ? The power or the quality?

I know what you mean there. I certainly grew up on, and, loved the 300 degree sound but I guess I will put up with what I can get.

Going back to the two up question, the owners manual gives tyre pressures as 32 f 36 r but nothing for two up riding !
What do you guys do ?

On all the bikes I've had in the last 10 yrs the tyre pressures in the book are for ALL loads.

Well the angst is over. I went with the cranberry and silver T120. I won’t actually pick up until Tuesday, but the one that I test rode was a torque monster. After riding an 800 pound or 1000 pound Harley, you really have to pick your line in a curve or corner differently. The T120 flicks around in those situations.....the Harley sort of tractors around. MUCH heavier steering on the H.D. I’m going to love this Bonny. Thanks again for all the input.
