    Hi,
So I recently bought a 1999 Trophy in excellent cosmetic condition but in need of some TLC on the maintenance parts (carbs, valves, ....).
So I got some expert information from youtube on the internals of carburators and how to remove the airbox :
What is the pilot jet :
Amazing explanation, even I understand it now

How to strip the Keihin CVK carbs :
Excellent step by step tutorial in 4 parts

    Remove carbs and airbox :
OK, this one is for the sprint, but once you get the fairing of, it is identical. The oil change, oil filter change, valve clearance, ... all is applicable (clearance is different though, ..., I think)

So this I already achieved :
    - removed fairing : OK, to be honest, everyone can loosen a bunch of screws, this ain't rocket science ;-)
    - removed battery and battery case : again, remove some screws and cut through the bottom one because it was to rusted
    - removed solenoids : mark where they came from
    - removed carbs and airfilter : tip : loosen the collars on the carburator side between the engine and carbs, not the collars on the engine side. For the rest, all is in the video ;-) Another tip, instead of trying to undo the gascable with the carbs mounted, undo the gashandle assembly and take out the gas cable entirely and then take it of the carbs on the bench, way more easy :)
    - strip carbs : be carefull with the choke assembly, the screws are plastic and can be undone by hand or a gentle touch with a 12mm key.
I'm not undoing the carb assembly because of the springs between the carbs and I hate putting them back. I don't think it's really necessary in the purpose of cleaning with carb cleaner a toothbrush and some compressed air.
I did take Superdoo's advice and changed all the phillips screws for the float bowl and topcap with stainless allen screws (M3*16). I added a foto to see the difference on the bowl.

So now, I'm waiting for all ordered parts and tools. I don't wanna open up the engine and leave it sitting like that for 2 weeks. I'll post some updates when I've been able to continue a bit :)
