Hi all, new to the forum and hope fir a little advice.
So I have recently acquired a 1999 sprint 955i, have started going over it and all seams in good order, no knocks bangs rattles goes like a train starts first touch no issues apart from the oil light.
Turn ignition on light is on, start engine light goes out..... comes back on a few minutes later. Oil level looks a bit high in the viewing window. Any ideas apart from the obvious changing the pressure switch.
How reliable are these motors, should I be concerned about oil pump ?
    Cheers

955 motors generally are very reliable. If it were me I would try to siphon some oil out , maybe use a turkey baster type of tool but I dont know if it will make a difference to the engine light. When was it last serviced and is the oil old and dirty?
For what it costs I would get a new switch, that can either rule out or tell you there is a pump or other problem.
