Some of you will have seen this picture of my bike elsewhere, but those who haven't may be interested (or not - who knows??). Have had it from new and now, at 19 years old, it has north of 48,500 miles on the clock and still pulling like a train.:upyeah: Mostly 2 up use and holiday transport to Scotland, Wales, Belgium, France and Switzerland, with which it coped admirably. Quick, comfortable, powerful and reliable. Let's hope it continues.
Cheers Sir!! Can't believe I've kept it for over 19 years, but it really has been a bloody fine bike! :upyeah:
Hey Stevey baby, that is a beautiful, beautiful bike. REALLY like it. So much so I'm going straight to Ebay to search for one. Dave
Only got the one pic so far - from the advert, but will post more once the bike is back from the local garage - (having fork seals done and a new rear disc).
Now that's a bonny bugger!! Enjoy! Good luck with your search, Dave. Central France eh?? I may have been on a road near you, but then again, maybe not! That there France is a BIG country. Had a week in the Auvergne a few years ago, and then road up to the Marne Valley for week two. Can't remember where we stayed, but it involved passing Clermont Ferrand on the way down, and then le Puy and Puy du Dome got involved. Must have been 12 years ago ... how time flies etc .....!
I'm jealous ... of course! I remember getting stuck on an autoroute (I think) trying to go north through Lyon on the way to the Marne Valley. Jeez it was hot! And small gaps + panniers make things a bit tight!
Got the Trident back from Alan Lear Motorcycles (local independent garage) - full MOT, new rear disc, new pads, fork seals done, new plugs, valve clearances done etc. - full service effectively. Runs like a dream - managed to get out on the Bonnie in the morning as well. Bloody raining now but will post more pics if it dries up. Checking the old MOT's and service history - it looks as if it was stored between 2006 and 2012 as it only did 246 miles!
Shineeeeeey!!! Mine was serviced in May(ish) 2012 prior to going on holiday, with just over 48,000 miles on the clock. Ended up taking the car as we were both under the weather just before setting off. Bike now has done about 48,800 miles! Been unwell now for 2 1/2 bloody years, and I'm a wee bit cheesed off! What's the betting that they whip me into hospital for a heart op just as the really nice (optimist!) weather starts!
Latest incarnation of my Trident. Tried to repaint the old handlebar fairing after it got scratched. Lovely orange peel finish, even after much rubbing down and polishing! And so I went for a Puig sports screen, which appears to suit it nicely (in my humble and somewhat biased opinion). Little difference in wind deflection it would seem. Put the original silencers back on, just 'cos I could, and was quite surprised how much better it seems to run and idle compared with the previous freer flowing (allegedly) silencers. Strangely the exhaust doesn't smell like the choke is half on, either! Might just keep it this way for a while!
