I am trying to find carburetors for my 1978 Triumph Bonneville T140 and I am having alot of trouble. It was orginally my dads and after sitting for a long time the original carbs are pretty thrashed and cant be rebuilt. I have looked all over and I have read his carburetors were only on his bike for a short time because of epa rules and triumph had to put different carbs on the bike when shipping them to america. I doubt i can find the same carburetors, unless anyone knows where I can find them, Ive been looking for a year eith no luck. I was hoping if someone could tell for sure, if i can attached the original uk carbs to the bike and they would work. I can find the original uk carbs easy. If anyone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Wouldn't these work? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20382678...MI7LiC0ueG9gIVh7PtCh1Nvwg3EAQYBCABEgIJpvD_BwE or these? https://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/prod...t-for-1979-1982-t-140-triumph-750-motorcycles I assume you wouldn't be paying quite that much in postage so not a bad deal if they work. Amal here in the UK can still provide 30mm concentrics - though the web site says they're temporarily out of stock - if that's what you want? http://amalcarb.co.uk/mk-i-concentric-series/900-series/base-line-specifications/30mm-bore.html I don't know if your '78 had MkIIs but, if it did, this site says they're still available. At a price. https://www.britishbikebits.com/amal-mk2-concentric-carburettor-2930-9-triumph-bonneville-t140 Good luck.
