Lol, grandchildren are young still n batter there toys playing with them as they should , but they do understand grandad is a bit more fussy with his toys lol.
Another step forward with fitting the painted frame together and getting the bottom end back in and on the bench ready for final assembly.
New oil pump fitted along with new seals n gasket and found a right hand thread screw for the rev drive so i could fit that as well and finish off the fitting of the new clutch n primary chain.
One exhaust guide was cracked and my mate sold his valve cutting machine so Dave Waddy is doing the work for me as it needed an oversize guide as well.
A bit more progres today, fitted the newly cut valves with new springs to the cyl head and timed the new electronic ignition trigger unit so i can fit all the outer covers next ready to bolt the head on and engine is finished then.
Listen Darkman, it might have escaped your notice but there have been no updates for nigh on a week!!!!! Have some understanding for us non mechanically skilled followers, eg me, who need regular pick me ups from admiring your handiwork. I'm beginning to get the shakes!
I will address this straight away, sadly i have been let down with a few key items beyond my control and i will be making a concerted effort with updates as soon as i have resolved the issues
One good bit of news the seat pan i refurbed n painted is back from Andrew at R K Leighton recovered in the correct material unlike all the repro covers available online and it's a beauty .
R.K Leighton, been in the business of seat recovering for donkey's years, and it shows, I'm feeling better already Darkman, thanks!
They do a fantastic job things will speed up in the next few weeks as the last bits of the puzzle will arrive.
On the later bikes the return springs are mostly in cadmium, not sure of the years yet but on early bikes they are black so i had these plated black for that original look
The rim behind it's apparently still in the queue. This will certainly be an exciting week! Or not, as everyone could see, only after two weeks, so quite late!
Although in a queue its a further projects one, it's a MB10 rear Dunlop that i picked up at an auto jumble Hopefully all chrome parts will be back from the platers soon so i can post pics
