    Hi,

Could someone point me in the right direction for the correct grade of oil & quantity for my newly aquired 1936 L2/1 please. I have trawled the net without much luck, I have read conflicting reports from a SAE 40 used for the engine (Castrol XXL) to an EP 90 or 140, Any help appreciated. Cheers

I use castrol 90 on all triumphs with no issues.

    Hi All,
Thanks for the responses/comments, just to say I've used a SAE 90 grade of oil (Duckhams) meant to be for Classic Motorcycle gearboxes, it took 1/2 litre to show at the level plug, I did not flush the gearbox with parafin prior to this as suggested in the 1937 edition of Triumph Motorcycles by A J Masters.
