1200rs Handle Bar Position

Hi
After recently purchasing a Speed Triple 1200RS, I've experienced pain in my right elbow, after a day at track or any ride longer than an hour. I think this is down to my old body and more importantly the handle bar position and throttle position.
Has anyone tried a wider or/and a higher handle bar, with out impacting cable lengths or the heated grips wiring?
Love the bikes performance, but the pain last a couple of days!
