Hello, I'm new to triumph's, really more of a motocross background and Honda's , but had Buddy bring over his 2007 triumph ST Sprint that's been setting a while and partly disassembled. But looks like a nice bike. May be a bit more comfortable than my CBR929RR, although yet to be tested.cleaned the fuel tank and fresh spark plugs and battery, but all it. Does is back fire to author. Is this a sign of a common problem here? And ideas in what direction I should look at? My buddy got bike at auction in condition it's in and has no knowledge of its prior history, nor has he seen it run. Bike only has 5784 miles on it., Any ideas welcome, anxious to ride this unit. Thanks
Hi Joe, welcome to the forum. I had a sprint st a few years ago, it was a great bike and my first Triumph. Can't help with your problem but I'm pretty sure someone will be along soon to help out
Howdy Joe, and welcome in Hopefully you'll get your answers here, if not consider putting the problem in the Technical Help section where all the geeks hangout
Welcome aboard. The first thing I would check is that the plug leads had not been swapped over. A backfire into the air box is suggestive of overly rich fuelling or timing issues.
