1050 Fork Problem

Hi guys I have recently replaced the seals on my 58 Tiger and 1st fork went fine but on 2nd fork as I attemped to expell air from the cartridge by pumping the rod I got resistance when pulling rod up and not as expected on the downward movement I have stupidly put it all together anyway and now have a fork that goes down on when pressure on but comes back up in its own time ! Certainly not like the first one I done which has instand recall which I expected . I am thinking air still in or problem with cartridge any of you guys experienced this or any advice will be much appriciated as fork will be getting stripped down again tomorow.
