Ok so I picked up (tad early) a set of those 30odd mm OD LED indicators, DRL with an 8mm hollow bolt. Will need to drill out bars and retap to 8mm. Then the fun begins as the bars have no full bore to allow cable through. Any advise or has anyone modded the clip ons to suit. Thanks.
Yes using stock solid bars. I think I would need to drill up to the switch block and then drill down from the side to meet up at 60-90deg. I then may be able to utilise the existing wire bundle and just add a few more. I was thinking the solid bar would be more robust than the hollow pipe...as I would still need to drill back down at 60-90deg.
thinking you need a drill press with a good metal bit and oil to lube the drilling. patients and some beer and you’ll be fine.
Cheers Pat, 1 last question, can I sub in whisky for beer ? Maybe overthinking, but without hollow bars, how else ?
Just an update, Tried a longer drill bit but when these are a smaller dia, they usually have a reduced flute length. This results in having to drill short lengths and lift drill fully out, clean and repeat Ended up sorting a set of hollow steel/chrome clip ons and will run wires through. Cheers all.
