Hi all. Yesterday I purchased a 2007 Sprint ST 1050. I came from a 2001 Suzuki SV650S which I've owned since I passed my test in early January. I've been riding bikes on and off since I was 13 on my Grandad's farm then as soon as I was old enough to gain a licence at 16 I've been riding scooters and 125's as well as cars up until I thought it was about time I went and passed my full bike test. To be honest I was always more of a car guy but I've always had a twitch when it comes to bikes. So my first 'proper big bike' is my new to me 10 year old Sprint. I love it. Such a smooth and easy bike to ride compared to the 17 year old twin I was riding before! That engine though...wow! She has only 11,500 miles on her, every stamp up to date in the book, 3 keys and cost me a tad over £4,000. She's in the only colour to go for, that being Caspian Blue! She also came with the side Panniers, but they probably won't get to see much action unless I decide to bugger off one day on a Euro trip! Anyway, my name is Ryan. I'm 31 and from the Wirral, Merseyside. My username reflects my other passion for Jaguars, something I have been obsessed with since I first sat in a 1980's XJS. Each to their own, we all have that one crazy thing going on! I would love to know if there are any members on here from the Wirral (or surrounding areas too) to see about any meet ups at times? There is a bloke down in Eastham I saw the other day on a maroon looking ST 1050, looked very nice. Enough from me, please introduce yourselves! Ryan
Welcome in. There's a few from the surrounding area. One less from today as I'm moving to Scotland today. Think there is a couple from the Wirral just can't think who they are off the top of my head.
Scotland is a beautiful Country you will love it up there! I have family who live up in Stirling, I visit them from time to time. The next time I go up, it will be bang on in summertime and on the ST. Got to put the roads to full use! Regards
Cheers thanks. They can be money pits most of the time! Getting increasingly fed up of chucking cash at it so I thought it was about time to put my attention elsewhere for once! Ryan
I went onto a Trophy SE for three years and then last year onto a Thunderbird. Been on Triumphs now for a number of years and can't see me moving to another manufacturer; great bikes. Wessa
Best of British Wezza. We don't half make some good stuff when we put our minds to it! After owning this beast for all of one day so far, I cant think of anything I would want to replace it with. Don't even want to think of anything tbh, but maybe when I retire sometime never a Harley of some sort might tickle me Ryan
Just asked my first question http://www.thetriumphforum.co.uk/threads/what-are-these-for.8624/ seems quiet over there haha Ryan
Welcome Ryan. Good choice. If you want to get some use out of the luggage check out the Keilder meet up in July, there's a sticky thread in the newbie hangout.
Hi Ryan welcome in! As soon as you said Caspian blue you went up in my estimation!! Fed up with throwing money at your jag? It's a pleasure to do it at a triumph.
Hi mate I joined the forum a few days ago, I am near Blackpool. I think there is a regular bike meet Wed evenings during the summer at Southport on the prom. We are probably equal distance from there! Also I have posted separately about St Annes bike meet and my regular Devils Bridge (Kirkby Lonsdale) run.
That sound good, I'd be up for that! Yeah Southport is between the two and a nice little ride from both directions! Free tunnel for bikes too I'm looking forward to the next egg run. You'll have to let me know when the next meet is... Ryan
