    Hi Im Alex
I have a TT600 02 in Yellow, this is my first bike so not sure if its just my inexperience or there is a bit of a problem with the bike, she idles at just over 1000 rpm which feels a little high also on tick over once up to temp the revs seem to fluctuate up & down they seem to surge up to 2000 & then back to just over 1000, they are ok whilst on choke but as soon as choke is off its starts surging & stays like this even after being rode? any help would be appreciated or conformation this is normal for the bike
    Thanks in advance
    Alex :upyeah:

Hi and thanks for joining the forum. Have you taken it to a Triumph dealer so they can plug it into the diagnostics? It could be that the previous owner may have had an aftermarket exhaust/air filter/Powercommanda etc etc which would affect the idle if it wasn't remapped after?

Hi & welcome to the forum, like CC said, a diagnostics check up should highlight any problems with the current air/fuel mixtures.

Hi & Thanks for the welcome,
Well it has got an aftermarket exhaust on it (Fuel) which was on it when i got it, we have plugged it into our computer using the triumph freeware software & it doesn't throw up any fault codes, no EML on, Ive just put in a new air filter (genuine Triumph). Cleaned out Throttle bodies & around the butterflies, cleaned out the stepper motor, checked all vacuum pipes for splits, and done the TPS reset but nothing has made any difference,
If it was a fuel mixture issue should i get EML on? have any of you used the freeware software? maybe its no good? if a triumph dealer is needed do you have any good ones in mind not to far from Morecambe
    Thanks in advance :upyeah:

Hi welcome to the forum ,I think I agree with the guys above, has the bike been stood around for a while and not used ? ,you are better to get online and find the nearest Triumph dealer to you, good luck and hope you find the problem.

Hi all just let you know that replacing the baffle in the exhaust has cured the problem of the surging revs!... so do i choose no surging or making more noise? ...mmm decisions decisions!!

    Hi welcome To the forum..
It's a fuelling issue... Your local triumph dealer won't be able to help but a rolling road might... With the baffle in your Fuel exhaust obviously has similar restrictions to the standard exhaust. With the baffle out it is most likely running lean..so may need a bit of fine tuning... Keep the baffle in until you find a tuner...it seems the older Daytona is sensitive to different exhausts, it's a great bike but has older electronics. Newer ECU's are faster have more sensors and greater computing power so can make the necessary alterations a different exhaust makes to the fueling.

    Hi Alex,
I'm new to this forum also. I've got my first "big" bike after passing my test in June, mines a speed four which I believe is the same bike as yours only a naked version, mines also yellow and black. I'm not sure about your problem, But people on here seem very helpful, so your in good hands. welcome to the forum:upyeah:
