Clutch 1050 st

    Hi got a triumph sprint st 1050 when in gear and on centre stand wheel still spins when clutch is pulled in is this normal

    Broadly speaking it's normal. The wheel, when in gear, can turn but when you pull the clutch it should turn a lot slower.

    If you can stop it without the engine stalling that's ok! My tiger does it, handy for lubing the chain :D

    When I pull clutch in and put in gear it creeps forward when out on it is this normal

    Hi Darryl, do you mean that the bike will creep forward when you are out on it, for example in first gear and with the clutch pulled in?

    IF that is the case then the clutch is not releasing as it should and needs at least adjusting to reduce any cable slackness.

    Hi Darryl, diagnosis of problems is a step by step process, so:

    1. Adjust the cable play at the clutch lever until there is no slack between the handlebar lever and the actuating lever on the clutch cover.

    Then check to see if the bike still creeps.

    If you run out of adjustment at the lever end i believe there is also an adjuster at the bottom end of the cable too
